We're looking for an experienced full-time Frontend Engineering Manager to join our engineering team and build & lead the 3rd Frontend team. You should be an empathetic leader, have spent part of your career as a senior-level engineer, and want to help build & grow a team of high-performing engineers.

You should have senior-level (4 years+) experience building modern frontend applications, preferably using React or similar framework.

You should have significant experience (2 years+) leading and growing a team of engineers. You enjoy helping engineers thrive and grow in their roles. You should have a very good idea of how to run 1:1s with your direct reports and how to form strong relationships. You should be comfortable with giving continuous feedback and doing performance reviews. You are expected to grow the team as-needed and help lead a hiring process.

You have a track record of managing engineering teams that delivered great products and features. You should be very comfortable working with the Product and Design teams to formulate product ideas, skilled at writing & reviewing technical specifications, and planning work for your team. You can take on non-critical path technical work if time allows.

You’re comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a medium-sized talented team where you're supported in your efforts to grow professionally. You are able to manage your time well, communicate effectively, and collaborate in a fully distributed team.

About the Role

• Manage and grow a team of 4-6 high-performing engineers (US and EU timezones), support them through 1:1s and continuous feedback, and empower their career growth.

• As a member of a collaborative engineering and design team, you will work on a wide variety of technically challenging projects to support client recommendations and reviews.  These projects may include creating calculations document designs, and specifications that exceed the quality expectations of clients.
• You will assist Structural Group Leaders in performing structural analysis and detailed design of steel frames, concrete members, concrete and steel connections, and foundations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and understanding of relevant Building Codes and design standards.

Metabase is looking for a customer-focused, highly technical Success Engineer, Community Focus to join our growing global team! We are looking for someone who loves data analytics, enjoys helping others, and is excited to work for a startup to help drive our Success Engineering team’s mission to help our customers be successful by guiding them on how to get data from all the various places it lives, transform it into useful shapes, or to convert their questions into actual queries that can be executed.  You will help and build relationships with our customers in the public places they hang out (like LinkedIn, Twitter, Reddit, and data slack communities), providing help to Metabase users using our open source and for-fee products.  Our discourse forum is often the first resource that comes up when our customers search for issues and it’s used by Metabase customers big and small.

A typical day will involve a mix of answering our users on our discourse forum and helping customers on Twitter or other social channels.  Any given week, you might correspond with our users to hear what they’re trying to accomplish, construct SQL queries to analyze data in Metabase, drop into a programming language to debug an embedding issue, collaborate with our writing team, or participate in brainstorming sessions on what content we should create for our customers.

Being a Success Engineer at Metabase would be a great fit for you if you:
