Senior SDET / Test Automation Engineer (TypeScript)โ€

About the Role

We are looking for an engineer who sees testing as a code-first discipline. We are building a modern engineering culture where tests live alongside the code โ€” not in isolated QA silos.

This role is not about writing test scripts. You will become the architect of our Quality Infrastructure, designing and building a scalable TypeScript-based testing framework that supports all levels of testing โ€” from Unit to E2E.

This is an office-based position in Valencia.

Responsibilitiesโ€

  • Architect and build a modern, scalable automation framework from scratch using TypeScript
  • Implement full test pyramid coverage: Unit, Integration (API), and E2E (UI)
  • Drive the โ€œtests alongside codeโ€ approach, ensuring tests reside in the same repository as the source code
  • Improve Developer Experience by creating fixtures, mocks, and helpers for local testing
  • Integrate quality gates into GitLab CI pipelines to ensure fast and reliable feedback
  • Mentor engineers on testing best practices and writing testable code

Requirementsโ€

  • 3+ years of experience building automation frameworks from the ground up
  • Strong TypeScript expertise (generics, interfaces, strict typing)
  • Experience with modern automation patterns (Page Object Model, Screenplay, Composition)
  • Solid understanding of API and backend testing (REST, GraphQL, microservices)
  • Experience with Docker and debugging CI/CD pipelines
  • Proactive mindset focused on preventing bugs through better tooling and engineering practices

Nice to Haveโ€

  • Experience with Contract Testing
  • Understanding of frontend and backend frameworks beyond testing โ€” knowledge of how they work internally

We offer excellent benefits, including but not limited toโ€

  • Learning and development opportunities and interesting challenging tasks;
  • Relocation package (tickets, staying in a hotel for up to 2 weeks, and visa relocation support for our employees and their family members).
  • Partial compensation for tennis lessons.
  • Opportunity to develop language skills and partial compensation for the cost of language classes;
  • Transport compensation - 300 euros net per month.
  • Time for proper rest, with 24 working days of annual vacation and additional paid sick days.
  • Competitive remuneration level with annual review.

If you are passionate about building quality at the foundation level and shaping engineering culture, we would love to hear from you.

Role Overview

As a UX Researcher at Lodgify, youโ€™ll play a key role in bringing the voice of the customer into our products. Partnering with our senior researcher, youโ€™ll design and execute studies that uncover insights, validate solutions, and guide teams toward customer-centric decisions.

This is a hands-on role where your curiosity, empathy, and rigor will shape how our teams understand customer needs. Youโ€™ll be part of a design-driven culture, using Design Thinking to influence outcomes and ensure our products are as valuable as they are delightful.

How will you make an impact?

  • Plan and execute research across various methods, including interviews, usability tests, and surveys, to deliver timely and actionable insights.
  • Synthesize findings into clear recommendations that directly inform product and design decisions.
  • Enable rapid discovery and validation, ensuring teams can test and learn quickly.
  • Advocate for the customer by representing their perspective in design and delivery conversations.
  • Communicate insights in digestible waysโ€”from reports to workshopsโ€”that inspire action.
  • Maintain empathy for users throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring decisions stay grounded in real needs.
  • Collaborate across disciplines, partnering with Designers, PMs, Engineers, and Data teams to triangulate insights and embed them into solutions.
  • Contribute to research operations, including participant recruitment, documentation, and upkeep of the insight repository.
  • Help scale research practices, streamlining processes so they are repeatable and accessible across teams.

What makes you a great fit?

  • 3+ years of experience as a UX Researcher in a tech or SaaS environment.
  • Experienced in qualitative and quantitative methods, and confident in guiding others to use them effectively.
  • Strong ability to frame research objectives that align with business priorities.
  • Excellent communicatorโ€”skilled at turning findings into engaging reports, presentations, and workshops.
  • Comfortable with customer recruiting and study logistics.
  • Collaborative and adaptableโ€”you thrive in a consulting role, moving between teams and projects.
  • A portfolio, case studies, or examples of past work that demonstrate both executed research and the enablement of others.
