As a Data Scientist in our Credit Risk team, youโ€™ll work on improving both application scoring (to enhance onboarding decisions) and behavioral scoring (to increase portfolio profitability). Youโ€™ll be responsible for the full modeling cycle: from exploring data and identifying meaningful patterns, to building and validating models, assessing their business impact, writing clear implementation requirements, and monitoring production performance.

The role goes beyond modeling โ€” youโ€™ll collaborate with product managers, analysts, and engineers to understand business context, generate and test hypotheses, and continuously refine our decision-making strategy. We operate in a modern, data-driven environment where models and statistics drive key decisions, and the infrastructure supports fast iteration and deployment.

Each task is evaluated through the lens of business value โ€” thereโ€™s no such thing as work โ€œfor the drawer.โ€ This is a high-responsibility, high-impact role for someone ready to influence strategy, own results, and gain deep exposure to credit data, user behavior, and market dynamics.

Your Future Responsibilities Await:

  • Own the full modeling cycle โ€” from exploring raw data to preparing production-ready specs
  • Use metrics like AUC, KS, bad rate, and stability index to validate model quality
  • Track how models perform after launch and know when itโ€™s time to retrain or adapt
  • Evaluate value through NPV, backtesting, and real-world portfolio performance
  • Translate insights into decisions โ€” youโ€™ll help evolve our credit strategy, not just build models
  • Contribute ideas that change how we approve, price, and manage credit โ€” our internal tools are flexible and data-driven
  • Work closely with product and data to align every model with real business goals
  • Step in beyond your scope when needed โ€” we value ownership over rigid roles
  • Every task is evaluated through the lens of business value โ€” no "models for the drawer" here

What we expect from candidate:

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in data analytics or data science
  • Deep knowledge of statistics, probability, and machine learning algorithms
  • Proficiency in Python (pandas, scikit-learn) and SQL for data exploration and modeling
  • Experience working specifically with credit scoring models โ€” building or validating models for application or behavioral risk
  • Hands-on experience with the full model lifecycle: from data analysis and feature design to deployment and post-production monitoring
  • Ability to translate modeling logic into implementation-ready specs
  • Prior work with credit products is a strong plus, especially in fintech
  • Experience assessing business impact of models (e.g. NPV, backtesting) is a plus
  • Exposure to cross-functional collaboration (e.g. with product or engineering teams) is a plus
  • Willingness to relocate to our Manila HQ is a strong advantage

What we create

  • Modern banking services for millions of Filipinos
  • Cutting-edge solutions based on the best world practices and AI implementation
  • Licensed neobank aiming to be a unicorn and leading fintech in the fast-growing region of Southeast Asia
  • A business capable of raising over $60MM from the ADQ (the sovereign wealth fund of Abu Dhabi), World Bank Group and other investors despite the challenging market
  • An environment that allows you to launch new products in 3-4 months
  • A basis for expanding into new markets all over the world

What we offer

  • Passionate international team spanning the globe
  • Rapid professional growth. Merit (and merit only) rules the day
  • Reward for performance and long-term success of Salmon
  • Fast track to grow internationally
  • New office in Manila, Philippines
  • Relocation support for eligible candidates

Weโ€™re looking for a Data Analyst to join our B2A team โ€” the team that works with travel agencies and helps them sell hotels, flights, and other travel products. In this role, youโ€™ll be responsible for monitoring business health: tracking key metrics, identifying growth opportunities, preparing regular and ad-hoc reports, and conducting deep-dive analyses.

Youโ€™ll work closely with managers to uncover bottlenecks in the sales funnel, build partner cohorts, investigate revenue fluctuations, and support data-driven decision-making. Youโ€™ll also collaborate with other analytics teams (product, pricing, marketing) and own some projects independently.

This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys digging into data, solving complex problems, and being close to both product and business. Youโ€™ll have the chance to influence key business decisions and work across multiple domains.

Job responsibilities

  • Monitor sales and performance in the B2B segment, track key metrics, identify anomalies and growth opportunities;
  • Conduct research based on business requests, support data-driven business and commercial decisions. Identify bottlenecks in business processes, propose and test hypotheses for improvement;
  • Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports for the business team;
  • Collaborate closely with other analytics teams (product, pricing, marketing) to ensure end-to-end analytics and joint project work;
  • Independently lead and develop analytical projects.

Examples of projects youโ€™ll work on:

  • Booking and revenue analysis: spotting trends and anomalies across partner segments, sales channels, and brands;
  • Investigating drops in key metrics: analyzing deviations from forecasts/plans, formulating insights and hypotheses for further testing;
  • Cohort analysis of partners: building cohorts based on various event dates, analyzing retention and cohort changes (e.g., how long and consistently partners use the service, what behavioral patterns new partners show), identifying drivers of churn and growth;
  • Supporting the business team with hypothesis building and presentations: helping the business and commercial teams formulate and validate hypotheses, and preparing data for stakeholders.

Key qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in data analytics;
  • Strong command of SQL: writing complex queries, working with nested subqueries, window functions, and CTEs;
  • Experience with BI tools (we use Tableau): ability to create and maintain dashboards and visualize data clearly;
  • Basic Python skills (Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib/Seaborn) for data processing and visualization;
  • Solid understanding of statistics and experience with hypothesis testing: from experiment design to results interpretation;
  • English at B2 level or higher (confident spoken English for communication with colleagues and partners).

We offer you

  • We offer a fully flexible work schedule โ€” thereโ€™s no pressure to start work at exactly 9:00 AM; what matters is achieving results and moving forward;
  • Each person in our team is encouraged to choose their preferred work format. You can work fully remotely, come to the office, or choose a hybrid work model;
  • We are an ambitious and supportive team who love what they do, appreciate each other, and grow together;
  • The growth and development of each employee is our priority, so we have internal programs available for adaptation and training, development of soft skills and leadership abilities that are tailored individually to each employee;
  • We also provide partial compensation for employees participating in external training and conferences;
  • In tourism, it's difficult to grow without an excellent knowledge of English, and we support our employees' language learning goals โ€” we organize group and individual lessons, plus speaking clubs with colleagues from all over the world;
  • And, of course, to encourage you to travel more, we offer corporate prices on hotels and other travel services;
  • We prioritize well-being and are committed to supporting the overall health and work-life balance at ETG. As part of this commitment, we provide MyTime Day Off โ€” an extra day off that is designed to give our employees the flexibility to focus on important matters, whether itโ€™s taking care of their health, mental recharge, addressing personal issues, or any other important activities.
