- Design model behaviors that optimize for interpretability and an outstanding user experience.
- Train agentic models that autonomously interact with complex structured and unstructured environments, write and prototype code, and navigate multimodal inputs.
- Utilize the best tool for the job – SFT over synthetic data, on-policy distillation, RL or any combination of these to drive down the cost of specialized intelligence.
- Own benchmarking pipelines – assemble high-quality datasets and measure impact of different training parameters or methodologies.
Engineering Principles
- AI engineers are engineers – build production-ready code and own the end-to-end process of data, training, benchmarking and implementationArchitect scalable inference strategies that maximize compute efficiency.
- Maintain solutions to ensure stable, reliable execution for customers.
- Closely collaborate with engineering team to design important intersections of AI and product services such as interfaces, inference tracking, checkpointing, data persistence and caching.
- Contribute to engineering culture; mentor peers, evolve patterns, raise the bar on code quality, testing strategy, and documentation.
Tooling & Resources
- Work with bleeding-edge open-weights models and internal training frameworks.
- Stay at the forefront of open research and tooling– rapidly prototype and validate novel approaches.
- Contribute to internal tooling for inference, training, orchestration, and data generation.
Soft Skills & Mindset
- Communicate ideas and explain solutions – even to a non-technical audience.
- Autonomously build demonstrations and showcase work to the wider company.
- Break down ambiguous problems into a clear technical scope – think beyond immediate business needs and. incorporate future scalability into each design.

Qualifications
Our ideal candidate has all of the following:
- Strong background in both ML and engineering
- Great communication skills and rapid understanding of problem descriptions
- High agency; willing to propose, prototype and own solutions
- Experience in post-training large models (SFT, distillation, RL)
- Experience deploying models at production scale
- Previous work with dockerized systems (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
- Previous contributions to open research or AI infrastructure
- Strong familiarity with latest AI research and open-source tooling
- Experience shipping complex software and owning production-code
Nice to Have
- Experience performance-engineering inference architecture for maximum throughput (vLLM, SGlang, llama.cpp)
- Detailed knowledge of RL frameworks (verifiers, ART, prime-rl, trl)
- Published models or blog posts/publications
Success Indicators
- Benchmarks and user metrics: Model quality does not just exist in a lab – both benchmarks and real user metrics are critical to evaluate model quality.
- Reliability: Minimizing hallucinations, maximizing inference uptime and consistency, ensuring high accuracy in expected model outputs.
- Interpretability: We do not build black-box AI – all models must be able to communicate reasoning processes, break down code execution, reference sources and achieve consensus decisions.
- Impact: Improving internal frameworks and tooling, elevating technical culture, educating teams and sharing learnings.
- Collaboration: Ownership of projects without micro-management, agency in seeking out and offering help wherever possible.

Aspect Health is building an AI co-pilot for lifestyle-driven chronic conditions. We began by addressing women’s metabolic health—starting with PCOS, a condition affecting nearly 20% of women worldwide and a leading cause of female infertility. From here, we’re expanding to tackle IBS and other lifestyle-driven chronic issues, leveraging continuous glucose monitors and advanced at-home tests to deliver real-time, personalized feedback that empowers lasting health changes.
In the last eight months, we’ve grown 1000% — scaling our ARR from $250K to $2.5M—and kicked off our B2B expansion by partnering with six clinics. We are backed by notable investors, including a16z, Sequoia, Long Journey Ventures, Lux, Valor, and the founders of Flo Health and Deel, among others.
If you’re passionate about transforming healthcare through cutting-edge technology and real-world impact, Aspect Health is the place to be.

- Knowledge of DevOps and cloud infrastructure, including GCP, Redis, CI/CD (GitLab preferred), and monitoring (Grafana).
- Proven experience with complete ownership of feature delivery, including experience leading agile processes(standups, retros, sprint planning) and ensuring predictable, on time, on scope delivery.
- Hands-on experience setting up test frameworks and building test coverage from 0 to 1.
- Proficiency with analytics and instrumentation tools, including Amplitude, GA4, and basic data debugging.
- Very good communication skills in English, both written and in person - be able to explain a problem or challenge to a stakeholder over a call, or through slack - and ensure that you have a resolution.

- Prior experience introducing AI tools for engineering velocity (e.g., Copilot, Cursor, codegen pipelines).
- Strong product instincts or prior experience collaborating closely with high-performing product managers—able to ask the right questions, challenge assumptions, and think critically about tradeoffs.
- Track record of growing into leadership roles in early-stage companies.
- Passion for building solutions that help people manage chronic health conditions using real-time data.
Why This Role Is Exciting
- You’ll define and own the technical backbone of a fast-growing health-tech company solving critical real-world problems.

We’re one of the world’s most popular health monitoring apps — 16 million downloads across 130 countries. At the intersection of biometrics, science, AI, and design, we help people better understand their health and well-being.
We’re looking for a strong Python engineer to take technical ownership of key system components and help reduce the load on our team lead. We need someone who can work independently, make thoughtful decisions, and drive tasks from start to finish — without needing support at every step.
What We’re Looking For
- Python & Async Frameworks: You’re confident with Python (5+ years) and have solid experience with modern async frameworks like FastAPI or Litestar.

- Dive into messy code, improve structure, simplify logic, and clean up legacy
- Support and scale the most heavily loaded areas of the system where errors are costly
3. Team Collaboration
- Review code, suggest better solutions, and share your expertise
- Support less experienced colleagues by helping them understand context and write reliable code
- Quickly get up to speed on new features and tasks coming from other teams
The Team You’ll Join
You’ll be part of Core Backend — the team that keeps everything running and helps the rest of the company move faster. We’re not flashy, but nothing works without us.
Our mission is to speed up Time to Market, keep the architecture clean, reduce costs, and lay the foundation for scaling. Any serious backend challenge in the company usually ends up on our plate.

- Competitive salary, performance-based bonuses, and stock options
- 50% hardware subsidy after 6 months
- Access to a therapist & employee support program
- Health insurance
