Position

As an engineer of the Cube Core team, your main goal will be to build and maintain various parts of open-source Cube Core (https://github.com/cube-js/cube.js), community support in our Slack, as well as development of Cube Cloud product.

Some of the problems youโ€™ll be working on:

  • SQL generation and rewriting. Cube is a simple yet powerful way to organize SQL queries. The Cube way is to generate the best possible SQL query for a given database while abstracting all complex stuff from users and giving them full power of SQL at the same time. To solve this problem, Cube parses SQL queries written by users to understand the structure and rewrites them to apply performance optimizations.
  • Cube Store. Cube Store is used to serve analytics for trillions of data points with sub-second response times. To keep up-to-date with growing big data demands and serving speeds weโ€™re developing our own database optimized for serving huge aggregated tables with latencies of several milliseconds.
  • Cube APM. One of the main tech problems for Cube Cloud is to provide APM analytics of Cube instances using Cube itself. Being purely a dog food problem, large-scale real-time analytics has a lot of challenges, most of which will be solved for the first time ever using the SQL approach.

Requirements:

  • Expert in database algorithms and data structures: columnar vs row storage, SQL parsing, query planning, indexes, partitioning, join algorithms, filter pushdown optimizations, HLL.
  • Expert in Rust, or any other low-level language.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Fluent English.
  • Previous startup experience or interest in working in a small fast-moving company.

About the Role:

We are looking for an Anti-Fraud Operations Manager to join our Operations Team.
This role offers unparalleled access to the heart of the crypto and fintech industries. You will be responsible for leading our fraud prevention efforts, optimizing processes, and ensuring the safety of our financial operations.

Reporting to the Head of Operations, youโ€™ll work with Compliance, KYC/KYB, and Customer Support teams.

Your Role:

  • Lead and manage the Anti-Fraud team, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to company goals.

  • Monitor transactions for suspicious or unusual activity and take appropriate preventive action.
  • Identify patterns and trends in customer behaviour to refine the Anti-Fraud system and implement targeted rules.
  • Analyse and process data for transactions subject to mandatory control, preparing internal Suspicious Activity Reports.
  • Produce, review, and present regular fraud prevention reports to senior management.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments (Compliance, KYC/KYB, Tech) to optimise fraud prevention workflows and improve overall system effectiveness.
  • Develop and document technical requirements for upgrading the Anti-Fraud system to meet operational needs.
  • Train and mentor the Anti-Fraud team, ensuring professional development and up-to-date knowledge of fraud trends.

What We're Looking For:

  • Minimum of 3 yearsโ€™ experience leading or managing Anti-Fraud teams, ideally in banks, payment aggregators, or fintech organisations.
  • Extensive knowledge of international payment system rules (e.g., VISA, MasterCard) and regulatory AML requirements.
  • In-depth familiarity with KYC, KYT, and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) processes.
  • Demonstrable experience in implementing and improving Anti-Fraud systems, with a focus on automation and scalability.
  • Experience working in crypto projects is a strong advantage.
  • Proficient in English (at least Upper-Intermediate level).

Responsibilities

  • Conducting periodic security audits of various infrastructure components, including cloud and baremetal environments, CI/CD components, authentication and authorization systems, logging infrastructure, and more
