What you will do
- Make our codebase AI-ready: define clear module boundaries, improve API contracts, add semantic context, and build the structured documentation that makes AI agents more effective across every repo.
- Design and implement agent workflows that go beyond chat: multi-step reasoning, tool use, autonomous task execution, and human-gated checkpoints.
- Run experiments, validate with real users, and iterate based on evidence. We measure learning velocity, not just output.
- Collaborate closely with product managers and designers to shape what we build, not just how we build it. We expect a product mindset, not just technical execution.
- Act as a knowledge multiplier, sharing what you learn across and beyond your team to raise the bar for everyone.
About you
- 5+ years of experience building web apps.
- Experience with single page applications built with JavaScript and React.
- Experience with our favorite approaches and frameworks is always welcome (TypeScript, Continuous and Progressive Delivery with Feature Flags).
- A solid understanding of functional programming principles.
- Confident designing frontend architecture and passionate about performance.
- Experience mentoring and helping teammates, doing code reviews and pair-programming.
- Drive to have the editor and tooling set up perfectly.
- The initiative to fix something that's broken, rather than waiting for someone else to do it.
- Able to win a debate on tabs vs. spaces conducted entirely in English.
- Bring product thinking to engineering work. You can articulate why something matters for users, not just how it works technically.
- Embrace AI as a daily tool in your own workflow. You use AI coding assistants, iterate on prompts, and constantly look for ways to move faster.
- Are curious about what agent native architecture looks like: how to structure codebases, APIs, and documentation so AI agents can operate effectively at scale.

About the team
We are growing the Financial Assistant team at Plata, building intelligent systems that support users in managing their finances, understanding spending, and interacting with financial products in a simple and intuitive way. This team plays a key role in improving customer experience, engagement, and the overall value of our core products. This is a customer-facing product in a regulated environment โ accuracy, safety, and trust are non-negotiable.
We use AWS, Go, Python and cloud-based models, yet still flexible to mix ready-made tools and ship our custom solutions. We're all about building systems that deliver real, valuable results for our organization.
You will be a key specialist in a cross-functional team, working closely with backend, mobile and other LLM engineers.
Challenges that await you
- Work with agentic architectures where needed: tool use, multi-step reasoning, orchestration, and failure recovery
- Design and maintain eval infrastructure (offline test suites, golden datasets, regression harnesses) that gives a reliable signal after every change
- Work with advanced prompts, set up RAG-oriented data sources for efficient retrieval, and evaluate model outputs to ensure accuracy, relevance, and quality

- Hands-on experience with search and retrieval: dense/sparse/hybrid, reranking, query understanding โ using managed tooling effectively, not necessarily from scratch
- Practical experience with agentic architectures: tool use, orchestration, failure recovery
- Safety-first thinking: guardrails, content policies, graceful degradation under uncertainty, especially in a context where wrong answers have real consequences
- Production ML ownership: observability, latency budgets, cost tracking, regression detection
- Expertise in Python and its ecosystem, as well as language- and framework-agnostic mindset to achieve project goals
- Familiarity with open-source tools to build and evaluate RAG applications.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts to a broad audience of stakeholders
- B1 or higher English level for effective communication with an international team
Your bonus skills
- Previous experience delivering business-critical ML/AI-powered applications for customer-facing products
- Fine-tuning or distillation of LLMs for production use cases

- Experience in fintech, banking, or regulated domains

Job Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain automation testing frameworks and tools to improve testing efficiency and quality.
- Design, develop, and optimize automation test scripts covering scenarios such as functional testing, API testing, and performance testing.

About the role
SumUp is looking for a Systems Engineer Manager to join our Corporate IT team. In this role, you will report to the Head of Global IT. You will establish and lead our Systems Engineering function within Corporate IT, establishing the discipline from the ground up. You will own and mature SumUp's identity infrastructure, built on Microsoft Entra ID, and drive the consolidation and standardization of our core business platform configurations.
We are looking for a technical strategic thinker who thrives in bringing structure to complexity. You wonโt just be "keeping the lights on"; you will be actively improving stability, observability, and performance.
About the team
The Corporate IT team currently consists of a diverse group of System Administrators and outsourced support across the EU and the Americas. Our mission is to ensure every SumUp employee can access the tools they need safely and efficiently. We provide the "digital keys" to the company, ensuring that identity and access are seamless enablers of work rather than hurdles.
We believe in high accountability, technical excellence, and fostering a culture where IT is treated as an engineering discipline. If you are excited about building unified identity platforms, leveraging cutting edge technologies like AI and scaling internal engineering in a complex, multi-region fintech environment, we want to hear from you.
What youโll do
- Design conditional access policies, manage identity lifecycles, and ensure SSO health across a complex Microsoft Entra ID environment.
- Develop scripting and workflow tooling to reduce manual toil and increase reliability across the organization.
- Drive the adoption of AI-powered tooling to automate routine processes and scale the team's output beyond human hours.
- Partner with Endpoint Management to ensure seamless integration between identity, access, and device management across the fleet.
- Govern access to AI platforms and tooling (e.g. Copilot, Cursor, Langdock) - permissions, data boundaries, audit trails
- Lead the consolidation and standardization of core business platform configurations to bring consistency to our fast-growing landscape.
- Build a team where you will set clear expectations and actively support the career growth of your team members.
- Partner closely with Security & Compliance for access controls, the People Team for "Joiner-Mover-Leaver" processes, and Engineering teams for secure tool access.
- Own the IT service queue for systems-level issues, triaging and resolving with engineering rigour rather than a purely reactive support mindset.
You'll be great for this position if:
- You have 5+ years of experience in IAM or Systems Engineering, with deep expertise in tooling like Azure/Entra ID, Okta, or OneLogin.
- Familiarity with governing non-human identities and service accounts at scale -- this is increasingly critical as AI tooling proliferates and is a meaningful filter for the right candidate
- You have a proven track record of automating lifecycle processes (JML) and proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or Python).
- You design systems that solve access problems before they reach the helpdesk and have expert knowledge of cloud-first identity principles like SCIM and OIDC.
- You have experience acting as a technical lead, managing high-level administrative permissions, and navigating "Least Privilege" environments.
- You see technical debt and inconsistent configurations as an opportunity to create structure rather than a hurdle to avoid.
