Dwelly โ€” a UK-based, AI-enabled lettings and property management platform, that is growing through a roll-up strategy acquiring estate agencies. The company leverages two arms: i) acquiring existing letting agencies, effectively buying its highly sticky, recurring revenue-type landlords portfolios, and then ii) building a top-notch technology to automate tenant management, payments, and post-rental property maintenance. The company seamlessly integrates AI services to automate all business processes within brick-and-mortar real estate agencies, integrating them into a tech-enabled digital letting platform in two months to radically improve the user experiences and increase efficiency of the business.

Weโ€™re a fast-growing, product-focused company, backed by top-tier investors and led by a team with deep experience in real estate, technology, and operations.

The Role

Weโ€™re looking for a Data Platform Team Lead to own and build our data engineering function. You will be the second hire on the team, with two additional engineers to be hired under your leadership. As the team is still small, we expect you to be hands-on and spend around 40โ€“50% of your time writing code and designing systems.

This role is mission-critical and covers three core areas of the business:

Key Responsibilities

1. CRM Integration & Data Ingestion

Each business we acquire uses a different real estate CRM system (one of the top-10 most widely used in the UK). Your team will be responsible for building custom data extraction tools for each CRM โ€” extracting lease contracts, landlord and tenant data, financial records, and more โ€” and piping that into our systems. This will involve:

  • Reverse-engineering or working with APIs/databases of major CRM vendors
  • Designing modular, maintainable ingestion services
  • Automating โ€œone-clickโ€ data exports for seamless onboarding

2. Data Architecture, Optimization & Compliance

  • Design and maintain a unified data architecture: database schemas, data models, and micro-architecture solutions to ensure scalability and reliability.
  • Optimize database performance at all levels: indexing, partitioning, clustering, and tuning configuration parameters.
  • Ensure full compliance with GDPR, UK Data Protection Act, and other relevant regulations: data masking, consent management, retention policies, and privacy impact assessments.

3. Data Infrastructure, Analytics Platform & Ops Automations

Youโ€™ll also lead the buildout of our central analytics infrastructure, making it easy for our operations, finance, and DS teams to get the insights they need. This includes:

  • Building production processes with complex logic, for example, using CV libraries and flexible cloud expansion for quick recalculations of historical data. The calculation logic and python notebooks will be provided by DS, your responsibility is to wrap it up as a production pipeline.
  • Design and maintain a unified data architecture: database schemas, data models, and micro-architecture solutions to ensure scalability and reliability.
  • Optimize database performance at all levels: indexing, partitioning, clustering, and tuning configuration parameters.
  • Designing and maintaining robust ETL/ELT pipelines for different sources and different types of data, including phone calls, emails, scrapping public reviews, ะตtั.
  • Building and optimizing our data warehouse on BigQuery
  • Setting up foundational data governance practices (lineage, quality checks, cost monitoring, etc.)
  • Choosing the right tools from the Google Cloud stack and applying them effectively to balance performance, cost, and maintainability.
  • Ensure full compliance with GDPR, UK Data Protection Act, and other relevant regulations: data masking, consent management, retention policies, and privacy impact assessments.

Requirements

Youโ€™re a great fit if you

  • Turn ideas into code thatโ€™s clean, structured, and elegant
  • Have not only written code for isolated components but also designed systems that were later implemented by you and your teammates
  • Worked with different data pipeline technologies and understand their strengths and trade-offs, including: message queues, distributed systems, data warehouses, orchestration tools ย  ย  ย  ย
  • Solved more than one tricky performance optimization challenge in data pipelines
  • Know how to choose a practical and reliable way to monitor data quality
  • Have a solid grasp of core data warehouse design patterns and can โ€œspeak SA' languageโ€ fluently

Youโ€™re a perfect fit if you

  • Worked in a large company, led a team of 10โ€“15 engineers, got tired of legacy systems or bureaucracy โ€” and now want to build everything from scratch, properly, and without illogical legacy
  • Have hands-on experience with at least one cloud provider (Google Cloud, AWS, Azure) across storage, compute, and security
  • Built truly complex pipelines at the crossroads of very different technologies (e.g., image or audio analysis with auto-scaling compute, cascading ML libraries, and calls to LLM APIs)
  • Can set up CI/CD for the point above

Conditions

  • Remote (UK timezone preferred)
  • Market compensation

The Role

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and versatile Senior System/Data Analyst to join our team, focusing on the critical Payments and Financial Accounting domain. This is a cross-disciplinary role that sits at the intersection of Systems Analysis, Data Engineering, and Finance, with the core mission to fully automate and optimize our complex financial workflows. You will be responsible for ensuring the absolute accuracy of money movement and financial reporting for a portfolio of thousands of properties.

Key Responsibilities

Imagine a small estate agency with a portfolio of a thousand flats. Thatโ€™s a thousand monthly payments from tenants.

  • Itโ€™s great when we receive payments by direct debit and know exactly what each payment is for and who itโ€™s from.
  • But in 40% of cases the tenant initiates the payment themselves. They may forget to include the reference number that tells us which contract the payment belongs to.
  • They may not specify the period the payment covers โ€” and every tenant has their own payment cycle, starting from their move-in date.
  • In one month a payment may come from the tenantโ€™s account, and the next month โ€” from his wifeโ€™s account.
  • In some cases tenants are late or even refuse to pay โ€” we need to contact them and agree an individual repayment plan for the arrears.
  • After we receive a tenantโ€™s payment, we need to take the agency commission, deduct any expenses that occurred (for example, repairs), and send the remainder to the landlord. Keep in mind that some repair costs may be split across several months, or may have been paid directly by the landlord.
  • Keep in mind the nuances of payment-system fees.
  • In the UK client money and agency money are held in separate accounts โ€” donโ€™t double-count cash flows.

Traditionally these calculations are done manually by people. We want to automate this work 100%. Itโ€™s a fairly complex domain that requires extreme accuracy.

  1. Payments & Financial Process Automation:
  • Analyze and fully automate the end-to-end payment lifecycle for tenant rent and landlord payouts, aiming for 100% elimination of manual reconciliation for complex scenarios (e.g., self-initiated payments without reference numbers, misaligned payment cycles, varying source accounts).
  • Deep dive into existing production logic, read backend code, and reverse-engineer complex financial calculations to design automation logic.
  • Develop meticulous, cent-accurate Technical Specifications (TS) for the engineering team to implement payment and accounting logic.
  1. Data Accuracy & Reconciliation:
  • Design and implement control dashboards and reconciliation processes to ensure total financial accuracy across all systems, validating control sums down to the cent.
  • Define and track logic for handling payment arrears, debt collection plans, and complex expense deductions (e.g., agency commission, repair costs, multi-month splits).
  • Ensure correct separation and accounting of client money and agency money in compliance with UK regulations, avoiding double counting of cash flows.
  1. System Analysis & Development Support:
  • Model and track complex financial flows, integrating nuances like payment system commissions.
  • Act as a bridge between the business's financial complexity and the engineering team.
  • Occasionally contribute small code changes (e.g., a pull request of 15 lines of code) to solve problems or prove concepts directly, in lieu of lengthy documentation.

Why it's cool:

  • experienced founders who have already walked this path before (built PIK Arenda), and now significant traction shown in the UK already,
  • a large but compact and well-capitalized market: 20 thousand agencies on the island,
  • we are now on the way from 0 to 1, then there will be scaling 1 -> N, and there is an opportunity to see how companies of different stages grow and develop
  • to work with me (tbh there are different opinions on this =)

Requirements

Youโ€™re a great fit if you

  • Possess the high level of autonomy and "full-stack analyst" skill set expected of a Senior Analyst.
  • Thrive on solving complex technical challenges, particularly those involving financial data and high accuracy.
  • Prefer working with data and systems logic over managing people or pushing stakeholders.
  • Are a relentless perfectionist when it comes to financial reporting and reconciliation.
  • Are comfortable with reading and understanding backend code to inform specifications.
  • Have working English that allows for seamless professional communication.

Youโ€™re a perfect fit if you

  • Enjoy the challenge of ensuring financial control sums align perfectly to the cent.
  • Are seeking a niche role where your attention to detail and calm approach to complex problems will be highly valued.
  • Are experienced in an international environment.

Conditions

  • Remote (+/- London timezone).
  • Market compensation in GBP (ability to receive foreign currency payments is required).
  • Must be based outside of the Russian Federation.

Within Hyperskill, we run a Venture Studio โ€” an environment where we experiment with AI-first products, launch our own startups, and bring in external founders who develop early-stage ideas, identify market signals, and validate demand together with us.
When a product shows traction, we provide pre-seed investment and support the team until they reach the stage of raising external funding.

We run multiple projects in parallel, each led by a different founder. Many of these projects require strong technical support โ€” from rapid MVP development to ongoing product iterations and technical decision-making. This creates a broad and dynamic environment where engineers can work on diverse challenges across different domains.

We are now looking for AI Fullstack Engineers who can join these projects and help founders bring their ideas to life.

What You Will Do

  • Build end-to-end prototypes and early-stage applications โ€” front-end, back-end, and AI components โ€” using fast, iterative, experimental development cycles.
  • Use AI tools extensively to speed up coding, generate solutions, test ideas, and explore multiple implementation paths quickly.
  • Prototype fast and often: ship quick versions, validate assumptions, collect feedback, and refine without over-engineering.
  • Work closely with founders to define product direction, target use cases, and core value propositions based on early market signals.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate AI features (quality, performance, reliability, user experience) and continually improve them.
  • Make technical decisions independently, balancing speed and quality while keeping the product goal in focus.

What Weโ€™re Looking For

  • AI-Full-stack engineering background โ€” ability to build complete prototypes and early-stage applications end-to-end: front-end, back-end, and AI components.
  • Experience with a wide range of AI/LLM tools and techniques โ€” ability to use AI to code fast, explore multiple solutions quickly, and speed up development.
  • Hacker/entrepreneurial engineering style โ€” shipping fast, simplifying aggressively, building scrappy versions first, and optimizing only when needed.
  • Comfort operating in high uncertainty โ€” figuring out the product direction together with a founder, running experiments, testing hypotheses, and making decisions with limited information.
  • High ownership and autonomy โ€” ability to take broad, ambiguous tasks and turn them into working solutions without heavy guidance.
  • Startup-oriented engineering approach โ€” rapid prototyping, fast iteration cycles, resourcefulness, and willingness to work across multiple domains simultaneously.

What We Offer

  • Contractor agreement with a US-registered legal entity.
  • 100% remote โ€” work from anywhere in the world.
  • Competitive salary in USD + options in the product you're working on โ€” we focus on market rates and are ready to match your expectations.
  • Possibility to take a Founding Engineer or Co-Founder role with equity in products that raise the next round.
  • Dynamic environment that values experimentation, rapid prototyping, speed of execution, and creative problem-solving.
  • Wide field for growth โ€” contribute to different products, influence their direction, and see how ideas grow into real companies.

Upload your resume and tell us a few words about yourself โ€” weโ€™d love to hear from you!
